Winger Victor Moses described making his debut for Luton Town as an “incredible feeling” and expressed gratitude to the fans for their support during the team’s 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
The 33-year-old former Chelsea, Liverpool, and Inter Milan player recently joined Luton on a free transfer. He was named as a substitute in the 1-0 win at Millwall but didn’t feature in the match. However, when Luton hosted Sheffield Wednesday, Moses came off the bench with seven minutes of regular time remaining, shortly after Carlton Morris had equalized from the penalty spot and Sheffield Wednesday had been reduced to 10 men.
Moses made an immediate impact, playing on the right side and improving Luton’s attacking quality with his deliveries into the box, causing problems for Wednesday’s defense. He played a key role in Luton’s winning goal, delivering a perfectly timed pass to Alfie Doughty, whose cross set up Morris for the decisive strike.
After the match, Moses expressed his delight on X, writing: “Massive 3 points and an incredible feeling to make my debut for @LutonTown. Thanks to the fans for the reception I really appreciate the support.”
His performance caught the eye of manager Rob Edwards, who praised Moses’ impact and hinted at giving him more playing time in Luton’s next match against Plymouth Argyle. Edwards stated, “Victor was really good. He got involved in the goal, played the ball for Alfie, and had a great impact.”
Although he was only on the field for a short space of time, Moses’ display left the Hatters fans wanting more, as writing on social media, @FanHubHatter said: “You were class yesterday.” @binderdraj: “Welcome to Luton Victor! Great to see you on the pitch.
