Wigan Athletic manager Shaun Maloney has praised Bristol Rovers for their impressive summer recruitment and highlighted the strength of their forward line.
Bristol Rovers have invested heavily in young and talented players during the transfer window, reflecting the club’s focus on long-term development and improvement. The club’s hierarchy has backed manager Matt Taylor with these new additions to enhance the squad’s depth and quality.
As Bristol Rovers prepare to host Wigan Athletic at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Maloney acknowledges the strength of the Gas, particularly at home. He commended their recruitment efforts and noted that their squad is notably different from the one Wigan faced at the end of last season.
“They are strong at home,” Maloney told Wigan Athletic TV. “Their summer recruitment has been impressive compared to the team we played at the end of last season, which is now very different.”
Maloney also emphasized that Bristol Rovers’ forward line is particularly formidable and stressed the need for Wigan to match their performance levels from previous games and then some.
Currently, Bristol Rovers are positioned ninth in the league with seven points from seven matches. Taylor’s team is eager to secure a win against Wigan to boost their standings.
