With the transfer window closing soon, Wrexham must decide on Bickerstaff’s future. The club is gearing up for their new League One campaign after their promotion from the fourth tier, alongside Stockport County, Mansfield Town, and Crawley Town.
Recent updates from journalist Pete O’Rourke on X indicate that Bickerstaff is now attracting interest from other clubs, though the identities of these interested parties are not yet known.
Wrexham must decide whether to keep Bickerstaff for the 2024/25 season. Given the competition up front from players like Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer, Jack Marriott, Steven Fletcher, and Sam Dalby, his opportunities for regular game time at the Racecourse Ground may be limited.
A potential departure for Jake Bickerstaff before the end of the month could be advantageous for his career. Regular starts at a different club would provide him with more development opportunities compared to sitting on the bench at Wrexham.
Allowing Bickerstaff to leave could also free up space and funds within Wrexham’s squad. His contract runs until 2026, so the club is under no immediate pressure to sell and can wait for an appropriate offer.
Bickerstaff joined Wrexham in 2017 after a spell at Liverpool and has since made 24 appearances for the club, scoring three goals. He has also gained experience through loan spells at Nantwich Town and Caernarfon Town. He played a role in helping Wrexham secure promotion from the National League last year and has seen the club advance again while on loan at Accrington Stanley.
Looking ahead, Wrexham will begin their League One campaign with a home match against Wycombe Wanderers this weekend, aiming for a strong start. They will then face Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in the Carabao Cup next Tuesday.
