Rangers submit £6m+ bid to sign Kaiky - Fabrizio Romano

In a post on his personal X account on Friday (23 August), Romano reported that Rangers made a loan-to-buy offer for the 20-year-old Brazilian. The proposal included a £630,000 loan fee, a permanent transfer fee of £5.9 million, and a 30 percent sell-on clause. However, Almeria, who were relegated from La Liga last season, turned down the offer.

Romano did not specify whether Rangers’ bid included an option-to-buy clause or if the £5.9 million fee was an obligation. It is likely an option, which would explain why Almeria rejected it, as they might not anticipate receiving that money from Rangers.

Philippe Clement is likely frustrated by this, as he probably needs to offload players before bringing in new ones. Almeria may have rejected the offer because, while they would receive a loan fee for Kaiky, they likely doubt they would get the £5.9 million next year, which could depend on Rangers winning the Scottish Premiership title and qualifying for the Champions League group stage.
