With an update on Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, Southampton, who is in need of a new winger, could consider one of their “unplayable” targets.During the summer transfer window, Russell Martin has devoted the majority of his attention to strengthening his midfield and defense for Southampton.

The Saints manager added players like Ronnie Edwards, Nathan Wood, Charlie Taylor, and Adam Lallana to his roster while turning Flynn Downes and Taylor Harwood-Bellis’ loan deals into permanent agreements.

Though Southampton will need more firepower in the final third to stay in the Premier League, building from the back is an efficient tactic.

Martin has made it his goal to bolster his attacking line in light of the possibility that he may lose Che Adams, which has led to connections with a gifted Premier League winger.

Southampton lost the race to sign the talented Crystal Palace player. Jesurun Rak-Sakyi

Sky Sports said on Thursday that Southampton had knocked back a loan offer for Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi with an option to buy.

But according to the source, Palace intended to loan him to the Championship, where he may further his development, rather than sending him to another elite team.

Although it’s unfortunate that Southampton has been disqualified from pursuing the 21-year-old, who tallied eight goals and provided fifteen assists for Charlton during the 2022–2023 League One season, it might actually be a godsend.

Despite being a very gifted player, Rak-Sakyi has never played competitive football above the third division; in the previous season, he made five appearances in the Premier League off the bench.

Therefore, signing the quick-footed winger would have been risky; nevertheless, if the Saints had lost out on him, it should have given them the opportunity to get a player who is prepared to compete at the highest level in England.
