Following a big-money transfer, Celtics star ‘would love’ to return to the Hoops this summer.

Celtic sold the attacker last summer and his future is up in the air

This summer, Jota “would love” to return to Celtic, according to Saudi news source TV 24. The winger wasn’t happy in the Saudi Pro League when the Hoops sold him to Al-Ittihad for about £25 million a year ago.

Jota, who is 25-years-old, has struggled to adapt to football in the Middle East and is being linked with an exit from his present club already, despite signed a long-term deal.

During the previous season, he made 29 appearances for Al-Ittihad across all competitions, contributing five goals.

They did not, however, take home a trophy. “We apologise to the fans for leaving the King’s Cup and the rest of the tournaments,” he recently stated. We must better ourselves. We’ll put in some effort to fix the outcomes of the next games. Al-Ittihad is a sizable team that will resume its trophy winning. It is challenging to describe the events of today’s game.” Jota was first signed by Celtic on a loan basis in 2021, and his relocation to Glasgow was subsequently made permanent.

During his tenure at Celtic Park, he was a huge hit, scoring 28 goals in 83 games to assist the team win the Scottish Premiership twice in addition to the Scottish Cup and League Cup. His manager in Scotland prior to his departure for Tottenham Hotspur was Ange Postecoglou. “Jota in his career before he got to us (Celtic) wasn’t going on the trajectory he wanted and he was the one who made the decision to come here and work hard at his game and improve, and he is,” stated the Australian manager, who was able to bring out the best in Jota.

Like the rest of the group, he is always getting better, and it is something that needs to continue since he and the others both have more to offer, and I’m sure he is making progress in that direction.

After that, the former Portugal youth international made 33 appearances for their first squad and spent a loan period gaining experience with Real Vallodolid in Spain. Before Benfica allowed him to depart permanently, Celtic approached him and he developed into a vital member. If the Hoops could pull it off, bringing Jota back would be a fantastic decision. However, his pay will probably be extremely high, and it’s unclear if they would genuinely want to resolve the issue.

He was never employed by Brendan Rodgers and was a player under Postecoglou. Celtic has not yet signed a player this summer because they are being patient with their recruits. They are not hurrying into any costly or unnecessary deals; instead, they are waiting for the appropriate personalities to become available. They defeated Rangers to win the title again last season, and they will be determined to hold it again the following year.
