Following their loss to Leeds United, Norwich City is “set” to fire former Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner.

According to reports, Norwich City will fire former Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner after Leeds United ended their season.

The Canaries’ aggregate score was set at 0-0 going into the second leg of their semi-final in the Championship play-offs. Still, they lost 4-0 at Elland Road as they crumbled under the strain. The Eastern Daily Press reports that Wagner will be fired. According to the article, Wagner was probably going to be let go regardless of Norwich’s play-off performance since the team wanted to take a different route.

Leeds broke out in front of an irate home crowd, and Wagner cut a lonely figure on the touchline at Elland Road. Wagner was frank in his post-match remarks on his team’s difficulty establishing a presence in the match.

“Everyone has seen the difference between Leeds United and us tonight,” he declared. We have done pretty about everything you should not have done tonight.

“We also finished second in the duels. It’s a really frustrating evening and end of season, but we knew we had to stay in the game when we played Leeds away, and we did just the exact opposite.” After stepping away from English football for four years, Wagner assumed leadership at Carrow Road in January 2023. In 2017, he led Huddersfield Town into the Premier League, his first leadership role.
