On the second day of the OFC Futsal Men’s Champions League 2024 in New Caledonia, Suva FC defeated Veitongo FC 7-0 thanks to a fast start.
In the opening three minutes at the “Arene du Sud” near Noumea, Nikil Chand scored a hat-trick for the Fijian club winners, shocking the Tongan champs.

However, Suva’s sixth goal was scored by Fiji’s national captain Filipe Baravilala three minutes before halftime, making the score seven goals to none at the end of regulation.
Whatever coach Tualau said to his Veitongo FC team at halftime seemed to have the desired effect, as his men maintained concentration and sacrificed themselves to stop wave after wave of Suva FC raids, keeping Suva FC scoreless in the second half.
