Terence Kongolo, a former defender for Huddersfield Town, has confirmed his exit from Fulham.
He has been a member of the Cottagers’ roster for the past four years, making just four senior appearances while primarily playing on loan. The club’s retained list has finally been made public, ending his tenure at Craven Cottage.
“The club can confirm that Marek Rodák and Tosin will depart Fulham upon the expiration of their respective contracts at the end of this month,” Fulham said in a statement.
“While Willian and Bobby De Cordova-Reid are still being discussed by the club, Tyrese Francois and Terence Kongolo will also depart for fresh opportunities. There are fresh contract offers for George Wickens and Harvey Araujo.
In 2020, Fulham acquired Kongolo from Huddersfield following the Terriers’ elimination from the Premier League. He had made 60 appearances across all competitions, making him a significant figure in West Yorkshire.
His performance at the Terriers earned him a permanent transfer from Monaco, where he had originally been a loanee. He did play for Huddersfield in the second division following their relegation, but he left the team in October 2020 when the transfer window was prolonged because of COVID-19.
Kongolo was loaned by Fulham to both Le Havre and Rapid Vienna, however he had a challenging time with the latter. Over his first seven games for the Austrian team, he was sent off three times, a record for the team.
