The former U’s midfielder is heading out of the One Call Stadium. He spent four years playing at the JobServe Community Stadium, where he made 76 appearances for Colchester between 2009 and 2013.

Having joined Mansfield from Burton Albion in October of 2021, he had been there ever since.

Following the completion of the 2023–24 season, the Stags released their retained roster, which included O’Toole, Louie Turner, Anthony Hartigan, and Callum Johnson.

Over his career, O’Toole has appeared in over 400 league games for teams including Watford, Sheffield United, Bristol Rovers, and Burton Albion.

In 2016, the 35-year-old was included in the PFA Team of the Year for a second season after winning promotion to League One with Northampton Town.

O’Toole participated in three Mansfield games during their League Two promotion-winning season. He then went on loan to Johnnie Jackson’s AFC Wimbledon for the last three months of the year.

O’Toole played for the Dons in 14 games.
