Former West Brom player stabbed outside Bullring says ‘grateful I am still here’

A former footballer for West Bromwich Albion Academy, who was stabbed outside the Bullring shopping center, expressed his gratitude to still be alive. The teenage former Baggies football player says he is now healing following a “scary few days” and has advised people to take the risks of knife crime more seriously. Police are still investigating the violent event.

The adolescent former football player for the Baggies claims he is recovering after a “scary few days” and has encouraged others to be extra cautious when it comes to knife crime. The violent event is still being looked into by the police.

I’m lucky that I had supportive friends by my side to quickly get help and stop the bleeding; else, who knows what might have happened. These have been frightening days, and I’m not sure it’s all really sinking in now. I am just thankful that I am still here, as some victims of knife crime are unable to identify what is the most terrible thing.

I sincerely hope that occurrences like these and other, more serious ones will cause people to realize that something obviously wrong is happening if people believe it is acceptable to walk out their front door carrying knives.” More than 500,000 people viewed the post on X, and many well-wishers left comments wishing for a “speedy recovery.” On Sunday morning, BirminghamLive reached out to West Midlands Police for an update on the investigation.

BirminghamLive also spoke with the brother of one victim following the attack, who claimed that his brother had been “stabbed in the back” and that two of his pals had also been slashed in the arm and face.
