Former wide receiver Zay Jones pays the Tennessee Titans a visit.

It’s possible that a second wide receiver from the Jacksonville Jaguars is going to a divisional opponent.

The Tennessee Titans are scheduled to receive a visit from former Jaguars wide receiver Zay Jones, according Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. After using a first-round pick on a receiver for the first time since 2012, the Jaguars cut Jones last week.

In addition to current Titans offensive coordinator Nick Holz and former Jaguars passing game coordinator Calvin Ridley, Jones will rejoin with them if he signs with the Titans.

Jones missed two separate periods of time due to an injury he acquired in Week 2 of 2023, which limited him for the majority of the season. Jones caught 34 catches for 321 yards and two scores in nine games with the Jaguars the previous season.

Jones is third on the team in targets (185) and receiving yards (1,144) over the last two seasons combined. He is tied for fourth in touchdown catches (7) and third in catches (113). In terms of receiving yards per game (45.8), he is ranked fourth.

In 2022, Jones agreed to a three-year, $24 million contract with the Jaguars that included $14 million in guarantees.

The Jaguars will save $4,183,294 by taking on a dead cap of $6,569,334.

They carry $3,017,334 in dead cap in 2024 and save $7,735,294 if Jones is classified as a post-June 1st cut.

Jones will be replaced in the starting lineup by Brian Thomas Jr., the 23rd overall pick. Thomas is the first wide receiver the Jaguars have selected in the first round of the draft in more than ten years.

Yes, that is the plan when you choose quality players in the draft. The Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson stated last week, “You’re adding a talented receiver, you’re adding depth, and you’re adding a guy that has an element of speed that we haven’t had probably since Calvin [Ridley] last year.”

“Once we have him here as well, we can really get his hands on him. In a few weeks, we can get him into the playbook and see just how we can use him.” Not only can I believe it will help us offensively, but I also believe it will help us by expanding our offensive options.
