Four Lads think that the Rangers vs. Dundee match will be postponed once more after watching BBC Sport’s footage of the pitch on Saturday afternoon.
Although Dens Park has been under fire recently for being unusable, their Saturday (6 April) match against Motherwell was permitted to proceed despite the subpar field, which prompted Motherwell to file an official protest with the SPFL.
However, Four Lads Had A Dream responded on their personal Twitter account on April 6th, stating they couldn’t see how Wednesday’s game against the Rangers would go forward because the pitch is already a “cow field,” after video of the referee assessing the ground surfaced on Saturday.
They wrote, “Pretty sure the pitch is already a cow field after this today, and our game on Wednesday won’t be playable.”
“A ridiculous predicament for a premier league.”
Dundee’s ridiculousness is beyond words
Rangers’ whole attention will be on Sunday’s Old Firm game with Celtic, but some club members will undoubtedly be observing events at Dundee and casting doubt on what is going on there.
It is completely absurd for a premier league team to be in this situation in the middle of the season, and it is even more absurd that the SPFL is allowing it to occur. The match against Motherwell should never have happened.
Motherwell were naturally upset with the state of affairs, knowing that a catastrophic injury sustained on the pitch could end their season.
Given the injury problems they’ve already had this season and the fact that the stakes are significantly higher as they battle Celtic for the championship, Rangers will be considering the same thing.
It appears quite doubtful that the rescheduled match on Wednesday will go place given the state of the Dens Park field and the demands of a full 100 minutes of play on top of it.
