The legendary Fremantle player has announced that he would not be resuming his position as Executive General Manager of Football Talent, Strategy, and Special Projects in 2025, marking the end of his administration tenure.
Bell claimed that although he didn’t make the choice lightly, he believed it was the best one for both the Club and himself.
“This has been a tough choice, but I believe it’s the right one,” Bell stated.
As a player, board member, and part of the executive team, I am really pleased of the contributions I have made to the Club over the years. However, I am eager to take on my next challenge and let our list managers, David Walls and Darryn Fry, guide the Club at the next AFL and AFLW drafts.
Bell left a long impact at Fremantle, according to CEO Simon Garlick, because of his substantial contributions over a number of years.
“Our AFL and AFLW programs are in their current positions thanks in large part to Peter,” Garlick stated.
He supervised major roster changes and top coach moves for both the AFL and AFLW during his tenure as EGM of Football. Additionally, he led with skill during the seasons affected by COVID-19 and has contributed to our club’s current state.
“We wish Peter, Lana, and his family the very best for the future and are incredibly grateful for his contribution.”
While the special projects and strategic duties under Peter’s purview will be split across the Club’s executive team, list managers David Walls (AFL) and Darryn Fry (AFLW) will temporarily report directly to EGM of Football Joe Brierty.
