BREAKING NEWS: Everton remain on course for £18.7m windfall with next 24 hours key

Everton taking on Brentford is a fixture that could end up being worth millions come the end of the season.

The Toffees play host to the Bees at Goodison Park on Saturday, 26 April, and could leapfrog them into 15th place with a win.

However, should Thomas Frank’s side get the three points, they will go five clear of the Merseyside outfit.

Everton v Brentford may have financial implications

Everton’s financial future significantly hinges on their Premier League standings, as their position at the end of the season directly impacts their merit payments from the league’s broadcast rights.

Currently in 16th place, the club stand to gain £15.6million, according to the Liverpool Echo.

However, a jump to 15th would increase this to £18.7million, marking a substantial 49.6% increase from the previous season’s earnings for the same place.

The club has been subject to two separate points deductions this season, totalling eight points.

Without these deductions, Everton would be in 14th place, which would bring in £21.8million.

Everton’s focus is on ensuring their Premier League status to maintain the substantial sums of money received annually through broadcast revenues.

777 Partners provided Everton with cash injection

Survival in the league is also crucial for prospective owners 777 Partners, as it would provide security over revenue streams for the next season, making the completion of the takeover more likely.

The club’s financial situation has been temporarily stabilised with a £15million loan provided by 777 Partners last week, bringing their total loans to the club to over £200million, however, there still remains a lack of clarity.

These loans would have to be converted to equity if 777 Partners wishes to take over the club, per Premier League regulations.
