Rangers are ready to move Sam Lammers on permanently this summer on a cut-price deal, sources have told Football Insider.
The 26-year-old has hit his best form on loan at FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie after leaving Ibrox on loan in January.
Utrecht boss Ron Jans has recently spoken out about his desire to keep Lammers at the club and opened the door to another loan spell in the 2024-25 campaign.
However, Football Insider revealed on Monday (8 April) that Rangers are not keen to loan the striker out again next term despite Jans’ comments.
Sources say the Ibrox club prefer a permanent sale and would accept an offer if their asking price is met.
But it is believed they will have to take a huge loss on the reported £3.5million fee they paid Atalanta to sign him last summer (2023) if the Gers are to get him off the books.
Lammers has caught the eye in his homeland with six goals in his last five Eredivisie games – and seven in 13 total appearances for Utrecht.
The striker flop had only managed two goals and two assists in 31 appearances across all competitions for Rangers, where his contract is set to run until June 2027.
He primarily played behind the striker and on the right flank during his time at Ibrox but has led the line during his time at Utrecht.
