Heartbreaking: Hibs’ star will be ‘out for at least four months’ due to a critical…..

Hibernian expects Kieron Bowie to be sidelined “for at least four months” following a hamstring injury sustained while on duty with Scotland’s Under-21s.

Bowie was forced off during the first half of Tuesday’s 5-0 victory over Malta. The 21-year-old forward, who joined Hibs from Fulham in August, has made four substitute appearances and scored once.

“Unfortunately, further scans have revealed that Bowie has suffered a serious hamstring injury and will be out for at least four months,” Hibernian announced.

Head coach David Gray expressed his frustration: “It’s tough. He’s injured the same hamstring again, and he’ll be out for a significant period. It’s hard to accept, especially given the positive start he’s made and how carefully we managed his minutes. The focus now is making sure he’s okay.”

Bowie started two games in five days for Scotland Under-21s, playing 56 minutes in last Friday’s 2-1 defeat to Spain before pulling up 35 minutes into the Malta match.

Gray added: “Before he left, there was communication between us and Scotland to manage his minutes and look after him. He’d been coming off the bench for us and was due for a start. Unfortunately, we can’t foresee these things, and it’s frustrating for everyone involved.”
