Portsmouth boss details exciting target latest with frantic transfer window finale ahead

The Blues’ top scorer had to leave the pitch with 14 minutes left in Saturday’s agonizing match after putting his team ahead in the first half with his third goal of the season. Lang sustained a groin injury and immediately headed to the dressing room at Turf Moor for treatment.

However, Mousinho sought to ease concerns that the January signing from Wigan would be out for a lengthy period, telling BBC Radio Solent: “Callum felt his groin, but it shouldn’t be too serious.”

Portsmouth has already been dealing with several injuries in their forward line after facing defensive challenges earlier this season.

Kusini Yengi was ruled out at Burnley after suffering a groin injury during the warm-up against West Brom, which has sidelined him for a couple of weeks. Additionally, Brighton loanee Mark O’Mahony missed the game against Scott Parker’s side due to bone bruising sustained while on international duty with the Republic of Ireland under-21s.

With Colby Bishop out until the new year following open-heart surgery, Pompey’s only fit strikers are Elias Sorensen and Christian Saydee.

Meanwhile, Conor Shaughnessy remains out with a calf injury sustained against Middlesbrough last month, and defender Ibane Bowat is set to miss six months after suffering a serious knee injury shortly after his £500,000 transfer from Fulham.
