Heartbreaking: Key Hibs man to miss Rangers clash due to surgery on three-month fracture

It looks like Martin Boyle’s wrist injury from the pre-season has caught up with him, and surgery is the best route to ensure a proper recovery. Boyle has been a key player for Hibs, and while his absence against Rangers on September 29 will be a setback, the timing of the operation, with a gap before the next match, should help him return sooner. The race to be fit for the game against Motherwell on October 5 will be tight, but hopefully, the procedure goes smoothly, and he can get back on the pitch quickly.
Martin Boyle has been carrying a wrist injury ever since pre-season.

Boyle, 31, scored the second goal for Hibs in their 2-0 victory over St Johnstone on Saturday. This season, he has scored five goals in all competitions.

For the trip to Rangers, Hibs will be hoping to welcome back skipper Joe Newell, who was noticeably missing against St Johnstone. The midfielder’s hernia issue kept him out of action, but if his recuperation goes as planned, he should be able to play against the Gers.

Hibs do not have their injury troubles to seek just now, with summer addition Kieron Bowie not set to play again until the start of next year after the forward suffered a hamstring tear last week while on international duties with Scotland Under-21s.
