Texas will be without one of its top players on Saturday.
Texas will need to defeat No. 25 Vanderbilt on the road in yet another top 25 game if they want to get back on track. Despite being regarded as one of the worst teams in the SEC, the Commodores have gained respect this season by defeating Kentucky and Alabama on route to a 5-2 record.
Texas will need to perform well on Saturday without one of its greatest players if it is to resume its winning ways. Pete Nakos of On3 Sports reports that star safety Andrew Mukuba will miss Saturday’s game due to a knee injury he sustained during the Georgia defeat.
“According to the SEC injury report, Texas defensive back Andrew Mukuba will not play on Saturday against No. 25 Vanderbilt,” Nakos said on X, formerly Twitter. “This season, Clemson transferred with 25 tackles and 2 interceptions.”
Steve Sarkisian acquired Mukuba, one of the best playmakers on this Texas defence, through the transfer window this summer. Although Mukuba will have to miss at least one game, the good news is that his injury doesn’t appear to be significant.
Texas must be on high alert vs. Vanderbilt
