Ipswich Town goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky has said he wants to ‘stay’ this summer.
Ipswich Town are currently aiming for promotion to the Premier League from the Championship this season.Hladky, 33, is out of contract at the end of June and is due to become a free agent as things stand.
He has provided this update on his future, as per a report by TWTD: “The contract is not signed yet, so that’s the only thing I know. You can ask someone else.
“My biggest point is I want to carry on here because it’s a massive club and I’m so happy coming here every day. I want to stay here, for sure. Hopefully we can find a way to get it done.”
Ipswich Town goalkeeper wants to stay
Hladky has made 42 appearances in all competitions for Ipswich this term and has kept 13 clean sheets.
They have a big decision to make as to whether to keep hold of him for longer or let him head out the exit door.
Kieran McKenna has opted to use him a lot more since the Tractor Boys’ promotion from League One due to his ability to use his feet.
Hladky is a useful player to have in and around the squad and is vastly experienced. However, he may not be guaranteed the number one spot in the future as Ipswich will naturally seek to improve.
He moved over to the United Kingdom back in 2019 when St Mirren snapped him up. Prior to his switch to Scotland, the 6ft 4inc man played for FC Zbrojovka Brno and Slovan Liberec.
Hladky played 59 matches for the Buddies altogether before Salford City lured him down the border. He then made 53 outings for the Ammies prior to his Ipswich switch.
McKenna’s men are back in action this evening with a home clash against Watford. They will be keen on taking advantage of both Leicester City and Leeds United failing to win last night against Millwall and Sunderland respectively.
The Tractor Boys were beaten 1-0 away by rivals Norwich City last time out and will be eager to bounce back. They would rise back into the top two with a win over the Hornets.
