André Breitenreiter has left his position as manager of relegated Huddersfield Town
Chairman of Huddersfield Town Kevin Nagle has confirmed that André Breitenreiter has left his position by mutual consent, and the club’s search for a new manager is already underway. With the intention of keeping Town in the Championship when Breitenreiter took over in February, the Terriers were demoted to League One.
During his brief tenure, the German coach managed just 13 games, with two victories, whilst Town battled to stay afloat. The process of finding a new management has already begun, and a decision is anticipated in the coming weeks.
“We have enjoyed working with André over the past three months, and he departs with our best wishes. Meanwhile, our search for a new head coach has advanced thanks to contingencies in place,” said town chairman and owner Nagle.
“We look forward to moving on in a positive manner with a new Head Coach dedicated to our ideals and vision, with our plans for pre-season and ambitions for the year ahead unmoved. Supporters can rest assured that all decisions made are with the best intentions of our Club in mind.”
According to a club statement, talks with the management started as soon as relegation was confirmed, and those conversations made it clear that an amicable split was in everyone’s best interests.
