Positive discussions on Sheffield Wednesday’s future are reportedly taking place between owner Dejphon Chansiri and manager Danny Rohl.
This summer’s early beginnings don’t seem to be much like previous summer’s.
Sheffield Wednesday was promoted from League One last season, but they immediately parted ways with Darren Moore.
Sheffield Wednesday supporters should be cautious of Rohl and Chansiri getting together again to talk about Rohl’s future at the team, as Moore and Chansiri were at a standstill on a possible new contract for the former.
However, according to recent sources, the two have had fruitful discussions about the club’s future, with Chansiri even in charge of some preliminary upgrades to the Middlewood training facility.
And now, according to The Star, Rohl is reportedly in talks for a new contract.
Danny Rohl is expected to sign a new deal with Sheffield Wednesday.
According to earlier reports, Rohl committed to Sheffield Wednesday through the end of the 2024–2025 season.
The Star is now claiming that during their recent conversations, Rohl and Chansiri also discussed the possibility of a new contract for Rohl, with Chansiri obviously eager to keep the German around longer.
The same article affirms that most of Rohl’s backroom staff is also under contract at Hillsborough through the summer of 2025.
The main sticking point for Danny Rohl and Dejphon Chansiri
Sheffield Wednesday supporters are still in shock over Moore’s departure.
Even though everything turned out well, there’s always a feeling that these kinds of unanticipated things are frequently lurking about Sheffield Wednesday.
There’s also some intrigue surrounding Rohl’s contract because of how Moore and Chansiri met to discuss a new contract last summer, which ultimately led to Moore’s departure.
However, after ensuring their Championship safety, Sheffield Wednesday’s fortunes appear to be improving.
It appears that Chansiri is trying to keep Rohl content, and it would be a brilliant move if the contentious owner of the Owls is also able to sign Rohl to a long-term contract.

However, his deeds will speak louder than words, so this summer he needs to let his deeds do the talking and let Rohl handle the football-related aspects of things.
Given Sheffield Wednesday’s interest in Rohl, a lengthier contract and a sizable compensation sum would be ideal.
