We spoke with new addition Lamar Reynolds briefly after learning of his signing last week. He talked about joining Morton and his confidence for the upcoming season:
“I am thrilled to be joining Morton. My agent initially presented me with the chance to travel to Scotland and represent the team, and I was overjoyed when we were able to finalise the agreement.”
“I’ve attended a few games and know a little bit about the club since I have friends who have played in the Scottish Championship, but when the opportunity arose, I made sure to do my study to find out more. I was intrigued by the motion even more because I know a little bit about the gaffer.
“I believe a portion of the initial attention was sparked by my FA Cup performances, particularly my assist and goal against Ipswich Town, who are currently participating in the Premier League.” That might have drawn some attention, and there was some interest after that game, I’d like to think.
“I think that this is the best decision for me, and I’m glad that I took on this new challenge given the club’s ambitions.”
“I’m putting a lot of effort into improving my game and attempting to achieve consistency with my primary strength—moving forward. Fans can anticipate a lot of pace and perhaps a few fantastic finishes, but I felt like I was playing a little more defensively and going back a lot more than I was going forward last season, so it did limit me a little.
“I’m delighted with what I’ve heard from the gaffer about his plans, and I’m enthusiastic for what lies ahead. I’m confident that this season will be successful for both the club and me personally. Hopefully, we can make progress and have a successful season.
Lamar is a welcome addition to the team, and we are forward to watch him play for the team during this historic 150th season on the Cappielow pitch!
