Everton fans and new takeover option after 777 collapse
Given that the 777 Parnters deal is about to fall through, local businessmen Andy Bell and George Downing may decide to enter the Everton takeover battle.
According to finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke with Football Insider exclusively, Bell and Downing would be welcomed by Everton supporters because they are also Evertonians.
Football Insider has learned that Moshiri has cancelled a takeover agreement with 777 Partners, leaving the door open for potential bidders.
According to The Telegraph, Andy Bell and George Downing, who have already made investments in the team and are interested in a stakeholder role, have surfaced as a potential takeover candidate.
It is known that they may join up with MSP Sports Capital in a consortium takeover in which the latter may acquire majority ownership of the team.
Fans of Everton will adore the new takeover duo.
“All options are on the table” for a potential Everton takeover, according to Maguire.
Maguire told Sean Fisher of Football Insider, “If we look at the different lenders to Everton football club, Andy Bell and George Downing have the advantage of being Evertonians.”
Since they are successful in and of themselves, you would think that their supporters would be happy to have them.
Even if Bill Kenwright was a very ardent Everton supporter and the fan base’s relationship with him did not work out, MSP, who are owed a significant sum by the team, is an alternative.
