Ipswich captain Sam Morsy has made no effort to hide his true allegiances – pulling on a Celtic top again during a training session.
Egyptian Morsy led the Tractor Boys to promotion last season and the 32-year-old will have a crack at the Premier League after the summer. While some of his team-mates are off celebrating, he’s been hitting the training pitch to get some bonus yards in and make sure he’s in tip-top shape for his first go at the top flight.
And he’s been doing it with some inspiration from the club he seemingly loves. In November last year, Morsy was spotted on holiday wearing a Celtic shirt, and now it appears that was no random one-off. A clip shared to Elite Sports Performance’s Instagram shows the midfield playmaker out doing some runs in the sun…with this year’s Celtic shirt on full display. Record Sport revealed in the summer Morsy’s manager Kieran McKenna was eyed as a replacement for Ange Postecoglou but he’s now being considered for both the Chelsea and Brighton jobs after leading them to promotion. So it remains to be seen if they will get the chance in next season’s Premier League.
