Ipswich Town: Chelsea, Kieran McKenna talks detailed amid intensifying Brighton link

Although Chelsea and Manchester United are still interested in hiring Kieran McKenna as their next head coach, Brighton is pressing to hire the Ipswich Town manager.

Brighton is “pushing” to appoint manager Kieran McKenna as their new head coach, and Manchester United and Chelsea are still interested in him. Ipswich Town will have to fight to retain McKenna.

Because of his exceptional performance at Portman Road, the Northern Irishman has established himself as one of the most exciting young coaches in English football.

In his first full season in charge, he led Ipswich to the Championship; this season, the Suffolk team astonishingly duplicated the feat, finishing second to guarantee their return to the Premier League.

Brighton has McKenna on their radar

Such efforts have not gone unnoticed, and following Roberto De Zerbi’s departure, rumours circulated claiming McKenna was the Seagulls’ target.

In other news, Tony Bloom wants the 38-year-old to take the place of the Italian, according to the Guardian, albeit Chelsea and the Red Devils are still interested in him.

Kieran McKenna - Ipswich vs Watford

Brighton is working hard to finalise an agreement to name Kieran McKenna as Roberto De Zerbi’s successor, while Manchester United and Chelsea are still vying for the Ipswich boss.

“If everything goes according to plan, McKenna—who has become one of the nation’s most promising young managers after steering Ipswich into the Premier League—will be moving to the Amex Stadium. It is acknowledged that McKenna must get through a few challenges in order to join Brighton, who need to fill a position following De Zerbi’s mutually agreed-upon departure.

“Ipswich, who will be eager to hang on to the 38-year-old, and Brighton will need to work out a deal.”

The success of Ipswich Town has garnered interest.

Given McKenna’s desire to join any of the aforementioned clubs, the harsh reality of the football world may soon arrive in Suffolk.

Given his affiliation with one of the biggest teams in the world, United, he will find the opportunity to assume the top job at Old Trafford alluring. Although Chelsea is a formidable Premier League team with an exceptionally talented group, most people would be understanding if he chose to play for either team.

The Brighton connection may be the most difficult one for Ipswich supporters to embrace, but even though they don’t have a particularly bright past, they are a reputable premier league team.

Kieran McKenna, the manager of Ipswich Town, is being considered by several Premier League teams.

Over the past three years, the Amex Stadium recruitment team has done an amazing job, and Bloom is thought to be a great owner to work with.

Therefore, the allure is there, and if McKenna were to make the move, it would be a logical next step in his career.

There are no assurances that he will go, though, and it’s crucial to keep in mind that the intention of the ambitious club, Ipswich, and the rapport he has developed over the last several years make his departure a difficult decision.

Although it is obvious that they will exert every effort to retain McKenna, the update does say that backup preparations have been made, with Rob Edwards, the manager of Luton Town, being named as a possible candidate.

Plans for Ipswich Town’s summer

In the end, Ipswich needs this resolved as soon as possible, and because neither Chelsea nor Manchester United have fired their manager yet, there’s a chance that if McKenna waits for them, it may extend into preseason.

The Tractor Boys have a lot of work to do this summer in terms of reshaping the squad, and McKenna would have a big say in transfers, and helping the recruitment team identify players that they need to come in.

This uncertainty is not the fault of anyone at Ipswich, or even McKenna, but it would be beneficial to the Suffolk side if a decision was made swiftly, and it goes without saying that all connected to the club are desperate for the boss to commit to the club for their Premier League return.
