Ipswich Town Eyeing Premier League Swoop For £6.4 Million-Rated Duo

Ipswich Town Boss Praised By Premier League Legend - The Real EFL
Ipswich Town aims to strengthen their squad this summer in preparation for the challenging task of surviving in the Premier League following their promotion this season. The Tractor Boys have already made a significant move in the transfer market by securing Kieran McKenna on a new four-year deal, keeping him at Portman Road until at least 2028. McKenna has led the team to back-to-back promotions, making Ipswich the first team since Southampton in 2012 to achieve this remarkable feat.

This unprecedented promotion allows Ipswich to benefit financially from Premier League football. Football finance expert Kieran Maguire predicts that the club will earn £150 million for just one season in the top flight, a significant increase from the £37 million they earned the last time they played in the Premier League over two decades ago.

With the financial boost, Ipswich Town has the flexibility to strengthen their squad. Among the targets is Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Carl Rushworth. According to Darren Witcoop, the Tractor Boys are monitoring Rushworth’s situation and waiting to see if Brighton will allow the former Swansea City and Lincoln City keeper to leave.

Additionally, Sussex World reported that Ipswich hopes to bring Jeremy Sarmiento back to the club. Sarmiento spent the second half of the season on loan at Portman Road and the first half at West Bromwich Albion. According to Transfermarkt, Rushworth and Sarmiento have a combined market value of £6.4 million.

With the summer transfer window opening next Friday, Ipswich Town has identified several candidates to pursue in the coming weeks, including Rushworth and Sarmiento.

While Sarmiento scored some crucial goals, including a stoppage-time winner against Southampton, he was not a regular starter. It would be more strategic for Ipswich to secure another loan deal for Omari Hutchinson from Chelsea, at the very least.
