John and I talked about the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2024 regular season schedule, going over each of the 17 games one by one. John blogged about his win/loss predictions here, and mine are included below. Week One: September 8 vs Miami Dolphins Prediction: The Jaguars lose (0-1). Ryan Nielsen’s first matchup against Mike McDaniel is brutal. Week two: September 15 versus. Cleveland Browns Prediction: Jaguars win (1–1). Cleveland has a lot of skill, but how can anyone trust them with their quarterback? Week three: September 23 vs Buffalo Bills (MNF) Prediction: The Jaguars lose (1-2). “The Bad Josh Allen” is the sport’s top player not called Pat.
Week four: September 29 against Houston Texans. Prediction: The Jaguars win (2-2). Jacksonville will be keen to quell the Houston buzz, just as it was in Week 12 of 2023. Week 5: October 6, versus. Indianapolis Colts. Prediction: The Jaguars win (3-2). The Jaguars will attempt to extend their home winning streak over the Colts to ten games. Week six: October 13 against Chicago Bears (London) Prediction: Jaguars lose 3–3. Chicago is becoming a popular playoff sleeper, and with good cause. The roster is packed. Week 7: October 20, versus. New England Patriots (London)
Prediction: The Jaguars win (4-3) Jacksonville should return from its trip to London with at least one win over a rookie quarterback. Week 8: October 27, vs. Green Bay Packers Prediction: Jaguars lose (4–4). Loyal listeners are aware that the Packers are my go-to Super Bowl pick this season. Week 9: November 3, vs Philadelphia Eagles (SNF) Prediction: Jaguars win (5–4). Doug Pederson gets his revenge after losing a close game in Philadelphia in 2022. Week 10: November 10 versus. Minnesota Vikings. Prediction: Jaguars lose (5–5). Kevin O’Connell may have J.J. McCarthy cooking by this time in the season. Week 11: November 17 against Detroit Lions. Prediction: Jaguars lose (5–6). That’s right, I have the Jaguars losing every game versus the NFC North. Good division! Week 12: BYE
Doug Pederson served ice cream to Jaguars players and staff. Week 13: December 1 versus. Houston Texans. Prediction: Jaguars win 6–6. I truly believe Houston is the most despised team in Jacksonville’s locker room, and it will show. Week 14: December 8 vs Tennessee Titans. Prediction: Jaguars win (7–6). Tennessee made a lot of noise this summer, but I don’t put much trust in the nepo organization. Week 15: December 15, vs. New York Jets. Prediction: Jaguars win (8–6). By then, Aaron Rodgers will undoubtedly have found some ridiculous excuse to stay off the field. Week 16: December 22 against Las Vegas Raiders. Prediction: The Jaguars win (9-6)
