The referee was picked by the Scottish FA for the massive Premiership fixture at Ibrox and that confirmation had supporters of both sides nervous after some of his previous outings in the fixture. “I can understand why both sets of fans would be nervous about this appointment,” Oz told GO Radio. “Obviously the controversy surrounding the Hearts match, but when you look at the other side of the fence I have heard a lot of Rangers supporters saying because there is an extra, added pressure on John Beaton does he referee the game a different way”For me personally, I just think talking about the referees – the fans are allowed to do it but in camp both Rangers and Celtic will be on themselves. This will not be a distraction, but I can understand why it’s a talking point.”
