JUST NOW: Everton have received formal offer ‘absolutely outstanding’

Sean Dyche takes aim at Everton players for what they 'have got to change' v Newcastle

Everton may find relief in their financial obligations this month as they face pressure to comply with Premier League regulations. A recent offer for one of their players has emerged, potentially easing their need to sell before the deadline. The club, under scrutiny for financial issues, faces potential penalties if they don’t balance their finances promptly.

Although Everton has been seeking new recruits for the upcoming season, including the recent signing of Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa, they are also contending with interest in their existing players. One significant offer has arrived for a player signed during Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure, prompting interest from multiple European clubs.

Despite these developments, negotiations for Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh have proven challenging. Everton values their assets, such as centre-back Ben Godfrey, highly, rejecting a £10m bid from a French club while Atalanta has also expressed interest with a €10m offer.

Godfrey, signed from Norwich City four years ago for around £20m, has had a commendable tenure at Everton, though his appearances were limited under Sean Dyche last season. Despite this, his potential departure could alleviate some financial strain for Everton, who are navigating both recruitment and financial management ahead of the new campaign.
