After remembering the 2018 tragedy, Kasper Schmeichel said the helicopter crash that killed Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha will “live with him forever.”

The horrific disaster took the lives of co-pilots Eric Swaffer and his fiancée Izabela Roza Lechowicz, as well as colleagues Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare. Thai millionaire Srivaddhanaprabha was one of the five persons slain in the incident.

Despite the veteran pilot’s best efforts, the Leonardo AW169 helicopter crashed to the ground shortly after taking off from the field, having risen to a height of about 430 feet.

Four of the five people on board made it through the initial crash, but following a significant fuel leak, the helicopter burst into flames in less than a minute, leaving no survivors.

One of the first responders to the collision outside Leicester’s King Power Stadium was Schmeichel.
