Kemar Roofe has given a heavy indication towards his imminent departure from Rangers after sharing a social media post offering him a fond farewell.
The Instagram upload, of an artwork of Roofe with a Jamaican flag background, was reposted on the forward’s story on 22 May in which he was wished a warm goodbye.
The post reads: “From his half or a penalty. Goodbye and good luck in the future, Kemar Roofe.”
Roofe will leave Ibrox after four years as a Rangers player, in which he scored 38 goals in a century of appearances.
The 31-year-old is expected to be part of a mass exodus at the club over the course of the summer, with the likes of Borna Barisic and John Lundstram already reportedly halfway out the door.
Time for Roofe to leave Rangers chapter behind
This season has been a slower burner for Roofe – he only made six Scottish Premiership starts, last scoring in the league back in August.
Philippe Clement and his staff are already in the process of recruiting in areas all over the pitch – though defensive strengthening is likely to happen first with the strong links of Brazilian left-back Jefte and Scotland goalkeeper Liam Kelly.
There is extensive work to be done in attack. Fabio Silva will return to Wolves after a frustrating loan spell in Glasgow, while the jury is still out on Cyriel Dessers for his key chance conversion rate despite his 22 goals across all competitions this season.
