Kevin Campbell: The 54-year-old striker for Everton, Nottingham Forest, West Brom, and Arsenal has passed away.

Former Arsenal and Everton footballer Kevin Campbell has died at the age of 54.

Two weeks after it was revealed that he was hospitalized due to a serious illness, the news has now been released. Before he left the game in 2006, he had made 521 appearances and scored 149 goals. Born in Lambeth in 1970, Campbell advanced through Arsenal’s academy system before making his Premier League debut as a young player. After that, he played 213 games for the London team and scored 59 goals.

During his early career with the Gunners, he was the winner of the First Division, FA Cup, League Cup, and European Cup Winners’ Cup. “We are devastated to learn that our former striker Kevin Campbell has died after a short illness,” Arsenal wrote on X. In 1995, Campbell moved for the first time from his comfortable home in Highbury to Nottingham Forest, where he would play for three years. Mark Crossley, a former teammate at Forest, said: “Life can be so cruel at times.” I’m inconsolable to learn of the demise of my former Forest teammate Kevin Campbell. He was a wonderful player, a true gentleman, a bright spot in the locker room, and a fun-loving person. My prayers are with his family and friends.

In 1998, Trabzonspor called and offered him a chance to live overseas. But he was only in Turkey for a year before he and Everton returned to England. In 151 games throughout all competitions, Campbell scored 39 goals, making him a popular player with the Toffees. After that, he played his last game for West Brom. He entered the world of football media after hanging up his boots and became a regular analyst on television. Tyrese, his son, followed in his father’s footsteps and is currently a football player.
