The Scottish Football Association (SFA) has confirmed that the Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Rangers on May 25 will begin at 3 p.m.
The main event of the previous season was rescheduled for 5.30 p.m. to avoid conflicting with the FA Cup final in England, which infuriated supporters and the winning teams, Celtic and Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Despite this season’s Hampden showdown pitting Manchester City against Manchester United at Wembley, the SFA has ruled out a rematch.
According to a statement, “Celtic and Rangers will square off in the Scottish Gas Men’s Scottish Cup Final on Saturday, May 25 at 3 p.m., live on BBC One Scotland and Premier Sports.”
The 150th anniversary edition of the sport has yielded even more memorable events this season. This past weekend, Rangers defeated Heart of Midlothian on Sunday to guarantee their spot in the championship match after Celtic defeated Aberdeen on penalties in a historic Semi-Final on Saturday. The next day, Sunday, May 26, is the Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup Final.”
