Josh McCammon, a midfielder, has joined King’s Lynn Town as part of their summer recruitment drive.
The 24-year-old is Adam Lakeland’s sixth summer acquisition as he steadily refreshes the team, joining the Linnets from National League North opponent Peterborough Sports.
Before Lynn returns to preseason training on Monday, McCammon, who scored six goals in 46 games for Peterborough Sports last season, will get together with his new teammates.
The 87-time player at Lincoln Road, formerly of Northampton Town’s academy, adds depth to Lakeland’s midfield options.
McCammon signed a permanent contract and announced his excitement for the challenge ahead.
“It is truly an honor to be a part of this ambitious football club,” he remarked. “I’m ready and willing to give it my all for the fans and the club. Really looking forward to the journey and the amazing things we have in store!
McCammon is the newest addition to Lakeland’s revamp at the Walks, and Lynn’s manager showed his excitement at landing a player who has frequently impressed him as an opponent.
“I’m thrilled Josh is here with us,” Lakeland remarked. “He’s been one of Peterborough Sports’ best and most reliable players at this level for the past few seasons, and he’s usually performed well whenever I’ve watched him or played against one of my teams.”
Josh is a good player who adds energy, talent, versatility, and the ability to chip in with goals. He is also quite experienced and has a turn of pace both with and without the ball.
“I’m excited to work with him; it’s another addition that strengthens the group.”
