Even though Angel Reese’s professional career is just getting started, she is already becoming involved in ownership matters.

This week, DC Power FC, a women’s professional soccer team, made the announcement on social media that rookie star of the Chicago Sky is now a co-owner. In a post on her X page, Reese also verified the story and expressed her excitement about becoming a part of the ownership group, given that she is originally from Maryland.

I feel so fortunate and thankful for this new ownership! looking forward to giving women in professional football additional chances. Being a native of Maryland, I’ve always had the want to support a local club!

The Washington, DC-based DC Power FC will participate in the USL Super competition, a brand-new competition run by the United Soccer League (USL), which is scheduled to start play in August. One of the most successful Major League Soccer (MLS) teams, DC United, is part of the ownership group of DC Power FC in addition to Reese.

Following two incredible seasons at LSU, which included a 2023 national championship, the 23-year-old Reese was chosen by the Sky with the seventh overall pick in this year’s WNBA Draft. One of the most well-known figures in women’s sports at the moment, she is currently pursuing a career in sports ownership to complement her numerous endorsement agreements (with brands like Reebok, Beats By Dre, and other well-known labels).
