Birmingham City’s squad value has risen despite their relegation. The team is almost entirely different now, with only three players from last year—Keshi Anderson, Paik Seung-ho, and Jay Stansfield (who joined just before the transfer deadline)—featuring in the squad for their recent game against Rotherham. Despite still finding their rhythm, the Blues have remained unbeaten after six matches, a testament to the efforts of new manager Chris Davies and the talent brought in by the club’s recruitment team, led by Knighthead.

In the past week, Birmingham has secured wins against promotion rivals Wrexham and Rotherham, and they’re aiming for their sixth consecutive league victory for the first time since 1985 when they were promoted to the First Division. Much of their success is credited to a strong recruitment strategy, reflected in the team’s rising market value. According to Football Transfers’ Player Valuation Model, which analyzes performance, experience, contract status, and other factors, Birmingham’s squad is now valued at nearly £60 million, an increase of around £5 million compared to last season. They rank 61st in terms of the fastest-rising squad values, with Ipswich Town, Brighton, and Juventus leading the list.
