Advanced negotiations have now been undertaken by Crystal Palace to sign yet another outstanding Championship player.

As Director of Football at Selhurst Park, Dougie Freedman just secured a new contract and a substantial salary increase by brilliantly plundering England’s second division, with Adam Wharton, Michael Olise, and Ebere Eze being the outstanding acquisitions.

The Glaswegian is now seeking to recruit Oliver Glasner, another Championship player, to Crystal Palace.

Gabriel Sara is being courted by Crystal Palace.

According to a report from UOL in Brazil, Crystal Palace has advanced negotiations to sign Norwich No. 17 Gabriel Sara.

The Brazilian had an amazing 2023–24 season at Carrow Road, making 46 Championship appearances, mostly from centre midfield, and tallying 13 goals and 12 assists.

Sara worked so hard that he was even named to the EFL Championship Team of the Season.

Crystal Palace is now eager to sign him.

While the Brazilian news source intriguingly notes that Crystal Palace has had more in-depth, advanced conversations with the Canaries, UOL mentions that Roma has also held talks with Norwich about signing the South American.

Flexibility of choice for Oliver Glasner

Given Glasner’s role as a central midfielder, some Crystal Palace supporters could be wondering where Sara, who Norwich purchased for £10 million in July 2022 from São Paulo, fits in beneath him.

The 24-year-old may find it difficult to get playing time at Selhurst Park with the presence of Wharton, Jefferson Lerma, Cheick Doucoure, Will Hughes, Naouirou Ahamada, and David Ozoh already.

But in reality, Sara is capable of filling a variety of roles.
