The jury has been informed that James Rowe, the former manager of Chesterfield FC, sexually abused a masseuse by telling her that his “groin” needed treatment before touching his privates.
According to Derby Crown Court, the attack is said to have occurred on November 24, 2021, when Rowe went to a private salon and asked for a ‘back massage’.
Rowe, 41, a former manager of Chesterfield FC, allegedly asked the woman if she was wearing ‘Frenches or a thong’ before the appointment and then revealed his penis while she was on the massage bed.
Rowe allegedly told the woman she had “massive t**ts” after yanking at the waistband of her pants to see her tattoo and attempting to “undo her tunic” to examine her breasts.
The prosecutor, Gurdial Singh, described to Derby Crown Court today (Monday) how Rowe contacted the complainant with a “light-hearted” message in November 2021, when Chesterfield FC was “flying high” and “in prime position for a play-off place.”
But she felt she had to maintain professionalism, so she informed him as much, according to Mr. Singh. He concurred. Then he confided in her that he required a massage.
Rowe enquired if “anyone would recognise him” when she invited him to the salon where she worked. She replied that no, Mr. Singh responded.
The 24th of November was his massage appointment. But the court was told that she was wearing a uniform and that he had texted her to enquire about her attire before coming.
“It was evident that wasn’t what he was asking about as he clarified, ‘Frenches or a thong?'” Mr Singh stated. The barrister stated that the masseuse disregarded the message, “determined to be professional.”
Rowe reportedly informed the masseur that “his groin needed attention” when he arrived, according to Mr. Singh. The barrister added: “Had she known she never would have agreed.
“She was panicking but was determined to be professional and told him to get on the massage bed. He pulled out his penis and attempted to strike her hand with it before grabbing her hand and attempting to place it on it.
She persisted in repeating “no,” and he persisted in urging her to hurry up. Grabbing his trousers, she pulled them over his bare penis. It’s evident that both her fingers and his penis made touch with each other.
The masseur couldn’t bring herself to tell her coworkers “what’s wrong” after leaving the room distressed, the court heard.
Mr. Singh stated that Rowe requested her to sit on a stool at the height of his penis when the masseuse returned to the room, “for obvious reasons.”
“He then kept putting his hand on the inside of her leg, and she kept taking it off and putting it back on the bed,” the attorney stated.
“He then stated he wanted to look at her tattoo, which is on her back and pulled at the waistband of her trousers to get a peek. “Go on, let me just see your t**s,” he said as he attempted to open her tunic in order to have a better look at her breasts. You possess enormous
Rowe received a suspension from Chesterfield FC at the beginning of January, following the Chelsea vs. Chesterfield FA Cup third round match. Rowe answered all enquiries posed to him after his arrest without comment.
