South Sydney Coach Reveals Plan to Elevate the Team in 2025
South Sydney Rabbitohs coach Jason Demetriou has unveiled his vision to elevate the team back to premiership contention in 2025. After a tumultuous 2024 campaign that saw the Rabbitohs miss the finals, Demetriou is doubling down on fresh strategies and a renewed focus on player development to restore the club’s reputation as a powerhouse.
At the heart of his approach is a revamped playing style that prioritizes cohesion and adaptability. “Our goal is to be unpredictable in attack and relentless in defense,” Demetriou explained. “We’ve identified areas where we fell short last season and are implementing changes to ensure we’re competing at the highest level in every game.”
Key to this transformation is the integration of emerging talent with the Rabbitohs’ established stars. Players like Campbell Graham, Latrell Mitchell, and Cody Walker will continue to be central to the team’s success, but Demetriou is also banking on breakout performances from young guns such as Isaiah Tass and Davvy Moale.
“Developing our next generation of players is crucial,” Demetriou said. “We’ve got an incredible pool of talent, and giving them the right opportunities is how we’ll build a sustainable winning culture.”
The Rabbitohs have also bolstered their roster, bringing in experienced players to add depth and versatility. Offseason recruits include dynamic forward Kulikefu Finefeuiaki and utility back Paul Alamoti, both expected to make an immediate impact.
Demetriou highlighted a new focus on mental resilience, with sports psychologists and performance coaches working alongside the squad. “Success starts with the right mindset,” he said.
South Sydney fans will get their first glimpse of the revamped side in their Round 1 clash against the Dolphins, where Demetriou’s master plan will be put to the test.
