Before the second leg of the match against MK Dons, the manager of Crawley Town said.
According to Scott Lindsey, Crawley Town’s emotions have been contained by MK Dons’ tendency to bounce back from setbacks.
Under Mike Williamson, the Dons have recovered from defeats nine times in a row. If they want to stay in the running for the playoffs, they will need to do it a tenth time on Saturday night, by a margin of three goals or more.
The Dons had not scored a goal in seven games previous to Tuesday’s 3-0 loss, and Lindsey stated that given their advantage, Crawley’s top goal had to be holding up one end.
“As a unit, they have excellent bounceback ability,” he stated. “They have scored three goals or more eight times since Mike Williamson took over, and seven of those eight games have taken place at home.
“We are aware of their high goal-scoring potential. We must ensure that our defence strategy is sound and that we maintain a spotless record.
“They have previously experienced that nine times under Mike, so we need to be cautious of that. They have also lost nine times and won the following nine games.
All we need to do is make sure we perform our duties well. We go through if we maintain a clean slate, as I mentioned. That is our primary goal.
Despite having a sizable lead going into MK1, where they haven’t triumphed in more than ten years, Lindsey was also eager to caution his team that the match was far from finished.
He went on, “We have made it very evident to the players that we are only halfway through the game, and I think that understanding is incredibly crucial.
We acknowledge that we are just halfway through and are incredibly humble about it. Yes, we think we are in a good place, but we still have a lot of work ahead of us.
