While the Glovers struggled to find the net at Huish Park on Saturday, many of our loanees were making an impact elsewhere.
Four of them were involved in the FA Cup, which means they are cup-tied for their parent club this season.
First up is Will Buse, who made his debut for Weymouth. They secured a 4-1 victory over Sholing to advance to the 3rd qualifying round. Buse played the full 90 minutes and was heavily involved early on, making a few crucial saves while the score was still 0-0.
Next, over in Weston-super-Mare, the Seagulls also moved forward in the competition with a 2-0 win against Wimborne Town. Both goals were scored early in the match, and Dylan Morgan played the entire game.
Salisbury also progressed after a resounding 7-1 win against AFC Stoneham. Jordan Thomas played the full match and was involved in at least one of Ronan Silva’s four goals in the game.
.
Finally, there was a seven goal thriller down at Plymouth Parkway.
Parkway, with Corey Koerner in their starting line up, were on the right side of a 4-3 scoreline, despite being 2-1 down during the first half at home to Westbury.
This means that all four loanees are ineligible to play for Yeovil in this season’s FA Cup.
In other news, Street climbed to the top of the Western League Premier with a 2-1 victory over St Austell. Jacob Shore and Krystian Woods were both used as substitutes, while Sol Padmore was also in the squad.
Mason Alden started for Welton, who had a rough day and were defeated 10-0 by Barnstaple.
Meanwhile, young goalkeeper Will Howard secured another clean sheet for Cullompton Rangers, who won 3-0 against Axminster Town, keeping them unbeaten and at the top of the South West Peninsula League East.
