Since our original article was published, the speculation linking Ross with a return to Aston Villa has intensified and it seems to be only a matter of time before the deal is announced.
Indeed, the Guardian are of the opinion that the proposed deal is now closer than ever to being completed with Ross keen to make the move.
Whilst we would all love to see Ross remain at Kenilworth Road for another season, surely we can’t begrudge such a talented player from strutting his stuff on the biggest stage in domestic football.
However, while understanding his desire to play in the Champions League, I can’t, for the life of me, see Aston Villa going far in the competition.
Also, I’m hoping that if the deal does get completed, the Hatters receive a fair fee for a player described as, possibly, the best to ever wear a Luton Town shirt.
