I published a piece about the potential acquisition of an unwelcome midfield master last weekend.
The article – luton-town-linked-with-interesting-midfield-acquisition – included a poll and explored the likelihood that Luton Town might be lucky enough to recruit Arsenal’s out-of-favour midfielder Emile Smith Rowe. Smith-Rowe, who is still only 23 years old, is trying to restart his career somewhere after being eliminated from consideration for an Arsenal starting spot on a regular basis.
I said last season that Luton Town managed to sign Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan, and maybe, just maybe, a similar arrangement might be worked out with Smith-Rowe as the ideal substitute for the departing Ross Barkley.
In terms of the aforementioned survey, it turned out to be the most popular one we’ve conducted since I’ve been in the editorial chair. The outcome was quite evenly split, but in the end, the NO party received 54% of the vote, suggesting that Emile’s transformation into a Hatter was only a pipe dream. Even more so in light of a rumored article from Footballer Insider 247 that claims Arsenal will only sell Smith-Rowe for a price close to £30 million. While that wouldn’t be bad news for the Hatters in any way, that’s not the kind of agreement we would like to be involved in!
It’s time to move on. Do you know of somebody Rob Edwards and the team should target?
