Luton Town are working on a late deal to sign Norwich City winger Abu Kamara, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old has attracted the interest of a number of clubs this summer after he handed in a transfer request at Norwich as he seeks to secure a move before the close of the transfer window.
Norwich are reluctant to lose the winger, but Luton are set to test their resolve by submitting a formal offer.
Kamara excelled on loan at Portsmouth last season, scoring 10 goals in 52 matches to help the club win League One and promotion to the Championship.
After being involved in the season’s first three games, Kamara has been removed from Norwich’s match-day squad for the past two fixtures.
Luton are looking to secure an immediate promotion back to the Premier League after being relegated from the top flight last season.
Luton Town are looking to add an attacking threat in Abu Kamara
The winger thrived at Portsmouth last season and is now looking to continue that upward trajectory with regular playing time.
Kamara has continued that form into this season, having scored one goal and assisted one in his first three appearances.
His playing time has been limited so far at Carrow Road this season, playing just 15 minutes in two Championship appearances.
Kamara’s Norwich contract expires next summer, so this is the club’s final transfer window to cash in on him before he becomes available for free.
Luton have had a difficult time adjusting to life back in the Championship, failing to win a single match so far this season.
Rob Edwards’ side suffered two defeats and a draw, and they were also knocked out of the EFL Cup this week.
