Mauricio Pochettino’s Verdict Has Led to a Definitive Dismissal Of Erik Ten Hag From Man United, With Prices Falling

After his team was soundly defeated by West Ham at the London Stadium this afternoon, Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is currently the clear favorite to become the next Premier League manager to resign.

Following an inconsistent first half of the season at Old Trafford, the Red Devils suffered their eighth league loss of the year thanks to goals from Mohamed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen in the second half. This dropped them to eighth place in the standings. Though the British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe has invested, expectations are low for the Dutch manager, who has frequently stated that victories will follow.

Following a miserable Champions League campaign in which they finished bottom of their group following defeats to Bayern Munich, Copenhagen, and Galatasaray, Ten Hag is now the odds-on favorite to be fired next by Betfair, having dropped from 6/5 to 17/20 before the West Ham loss.

It’s a long way from Burnley manager Vincent Kompany, who is put at 11/1 after his team struggled to adjust to the Premier League following their Championship-winning campaign last year, and Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson, who is second favorite at 5/1.

But another manager who has faced a lot of criticism from the public and media because of his team’s patchy results since his arrival in the summer is Mauricio Pochettino of Chelsea. Although it hasn’t been easy, the Argentine has the difficult challenge of leading the Blues out of their worst Premier League season in thirty years and back into the running for European football.

Their usual opponents—Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, and Everton—have caused them the most problems, despite their impressive victories over rivals Tottenham and Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup midweek and their draws against title contenders Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City.

The Blues manager is presently valued at 12/1, but his value has varied significantly depending on the outcome. Eddie Howe and new Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo are both placed at 16/1, while Irons manager David Moyes is available at 14/1.

Just a few weeks after his predecessor Paul Heckingbottom was fired, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is set at 20/1, while Rob Edwards, the manager of Luton Town, is rated at 33/1 and has a history of departing teams in the middle of the season.
