For the first time since the 2011–12 season, Huddersfield Town will begin the following season in League One. But Michael Duff, the manager, might have a move up his sleeve with a striker who was born in Spain.
After being relegated from the Premier League in 2019, the Terriers spent five years in the second division until finishing 23rd in the Championship in 2023–2024.
The squad had trouble scoring as they made their way back to League One, scoring just 48 goals in 46 games, which was the sixth fewest in the division.
Throughout the previous campaign, Huddersfield struggled to decide on a forward line, with a number of players sharing responsibilities, including Josh Koroma, Delano Burgzorg, Rhys Healey, and Bojan Radulović.
But with Burgzorg moving to Middlesbrough and Healey being inconsistent, Michael Duff could be able to rely on Radulović to lead his team to success in the third division.
Bojan Radulović’s tenure at Huddersfield Town has started off slowly.
The 24-year-old striker, who was born in Spain and played for the Serbia U19 team, came to Huddersfield from HJK Helsinki in Finland in January and was expected to perform right away.
The striker was on fire in the Veikkausliiga, claiming the 2023 Golden Boot after hitting 26 goals in 47 appearances for HJK over the course of two years. His play continued into the European arena, when he scored three goals in the UEFA Conference League and twice in the Champions League and Europa League Qualifying rounds.
But Radulović hasn’t been able to carry his goal-scoring prowess to England after moving there in January on a three-and-a-half year contract.
Compared to his 18 goals in his last full season in Helsinki, he scored just once in 11 Championship appearances for Huddersfield. However, he only started four games, therefore a deficiency of playing time severely affected his performance.
Nevertheless, considering his experience at his former team, his pedigree is strong, and he is capable of scoring goals given enough time. The 6′ 3″ striker has plenty to show the next campaign, and with Michael Duff’s track record of getting the best out of his attackers, he might thrive under a new boss.

2024-25 League One season could prove to be Bojan Radulovic’s making
Former Brighton & Hove Albion player Radulovic signed a contract to play in the Championship, and the expectation is that he will make an immediate impact in League One.
He might have to watch from the sidelines once more after another sluggish start, which would be disastrous for the player and the team.
In less than six months, Radulović will have played under three different managers before Duff, and this instability might have affected his own consistency.
With his League One experience from playing for Barnsley and Chesterfield Town, Duff has an excellent mentor to help him restart his career. He is currently 24 years old. The former manager of Burnley has developed several strikers in his career; in the last two seasons, players in the third division, such as Alfie May and Devante Cole, have scored goals consistently.
His one goal for Huddersfield demonstrated his actual potential, proving that his old skill is still there. In order to get his club off to a strong start against Stoke City in April, Radulovic scored an incredible goal, and he plans to replicate that performance in League One.
Radulović may be given the door by the Terriers if they still have enough choices to dismiss him if he doesn’t catch up, as wages and financial consequences are usually a major consideration in League One.
Conversely, a stellar season in blue and white might well put Huddersfield back on track to win the Championship, with a potent striker eager to compete in the lower leagues.
