Momentum in Rewa’s favour: Krishna

Roy Krishna, the captain of the Fijian football team, feels that the Rewa team has momentum going into this week’s OFC Men’s Champions League semifinal. Krishna reports that he has been closely monitoring the Delta Tigers’ performance in the regional tournament and is pleased with how they have looked thus far.

“It appears like they are succeeding greatly. It will be a difficult game because the momentum has picked up just when it needs to, but if they correct some of their errors—which I believe the coach is aware of—they could be able to win the tournament and go all the way. Krishna marches into camp with the national team in Ba today after spending the weekend in the nation. The men’s football team from Fiji will get ready for its group stage matches in the OFC Men’s Nation’s Cup in Suva, which takes place next month. In Pool A, Fiji will host Papua New Guinea, Tahiti, and Samoa.

In the meantime, Rewa and the reigning champion Auckland City have advanced to the OFC Men’s Champions League semifinals from Group A. Despite yesterday’s goalless draw with AS Magenta, AS Pirae secured their place in the last four from Group B.

To advance to the semi-finals, AS Magenta must now win their last group match against Ifira Black Bird tomorrow.
