Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as new claims made that the Sky Blues paid a lot less than first reported for Huddersfield Town star

New Coventry City signing Jack Rudoni has joined the club from Huddersfield Town
The latest information reveals that Coventry City’s acquisition of Jack Rudoni from Huddersfield Town involves a significantly lower transfer fee than initially reported.

Initially, reports from The Sun suggested Huddersfield had set a £10 million price tag for Rudoni, which led Coventry to explore other options. However, according to Richard Cawley, a football writer covering AFC Wimbledon, Coventry City managed to strike a deal with Huddersfield for approximately £5 million before completing Rudoni’s medical.

Despite various sources providing conflicting figures, The Sun’s Alan Nixon indicated the deal started at £6 million and could potentially rise to £10 million with additional clauses. Conversely, sources in West Yorkshire suggested the fee was closer to £4 million.

The BBC’s Nick Mashiter and Nizaar Kinsella reported an even lower initial fee, estimating it to be between £3.6 million to £3.8 million, with additional add-ons included. Thus, the final transfer fee for Jack Rudoni’s move to Coventry City is not expected to exceed £5 million.
